Quick and Easy No-Knead Sandwich Bread
Makes 1 loaf of bread in a 8’x4’ loaf pan
Ingredients:
3 cups (384 g) Deep Roots Milling Silver bread flour or all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons (7 g) instant yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons (5 g) kosher salt
1 teaspoon (5 g) sugar
1 1/2 cups (340 g) lukewarm water
1 tablespoon Softened butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
Whisk the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar together in a mixing bowl.
Pour water over and mix with a spatula. Place a damp tea towel over the bowl and place in a warm spot to rise.
Let rise until it has almost doubled in volume (1-3 hours depending on your kitchen temperature).
Remove the towel and deflate the dough with two forks. Use the forks to release the dough from the sides of the bowl, scraping down and lifting it back into the middle on all sides.
Use the softened butter to grease an 8 x 4 loaf pan (or 8.5 x 4.5). Transfer the dough into the pan, and gently spread the dough to the sides. Brush the top of the dough with the olive oil. Put the damp tea towel on top of the dough, and return to its warm spot.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees farenheit. Once the dough has risen over the rim of the pan (about 30 minutes-1 hour), remove the towel, place the pan in the oven, and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the bread from the oven and let cool at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Enjoy!
