The café and bakery located in a collective warehouse on Lynchburg’s Bedford Avenue specializes in European style pastries such as croissants, Danishes, tarts, and brioche. There’s always something special waiting behind the case.

What is particularly special is that the ingredients are local. All of the pastries at The Flour District use local flour, from 20-100%, depending on the item. The café and bakery focuses on local and seasonal flavors and crafts a unique, rich bite. Their partnership with Great Day Gardens means that customers can get local, hand-crafted, hearty loaves at the café as well as coffee, tea, wine, and cider. 

Their giant, chocolate-chip cookie is a favorite. Made with 100% Deep Roots flour, the cookie mixes wheat with 20-30% rye, dark chocolate-chips, and flakes of sea salt to deliver a chewy texture and nutty flavor that stays on the tongue.
